The Balancing Act: A Junior Self-Portrait Illustration by Kevin Drew (2011)
For our illustrations, we were asked to highlight a trait of ours that is both positive and negative. The trait I chose to use is passion. I am very passionate about the things that I like so I spend a lot of time on them. This can at times be bad because with all the time I spend on the things I like, there is less time to be spent on things that I don't like as much. This uneven use of time makes me a very unbalanced person. I highlighted how I am unbalanced by illustrating a hippopotamus attempting to balance on a tight rope. Balancing on a tight rope would be nearly impossible for a hippo, just like me trying to balance myself with the things that I like and the thing that i am not as passionate about.
