Gwaine Waldron: A Senior Profile Portrait by Rachel Hayward (2011)

My character, Gwaine Waldron, is a LARPer who is very loyal to his character. He is in his mid-twenties and loves the knights of the round table and beer. He refuses to admit that he is not very good in social situations and can only truly express himself while larping with his local team. When he grew up, he was surrounded by images of knights and swords, as well as ancient items from history because his father was a collector of these items. In the photo, Gwaine is experienceing his first loss in one of his larping battles; to him, it is devastating. He sees himself as a hero and losing really injured his self esteem. I feel his face depicts his disappointed and shocked at this sudden loss. His face is pale because of that. You can tell they are LARPing or in some sort of battle by the clothing and his props. His cinched tunic resembles that of a poor medieval time, and the fake longsword is a widely used weapon in different types of combat.
