Late: A Junior Narrative Illustration by Sam Wong (2013)

In this illustration, a dreamer is falling in an endless abyss. His alarm clock looms over him menacingly and the fear of being late manifests as an instrument of impending doom. This is a telling of a story that many live each and every day. Are you going to be late? For the illustration, I used Adobe Illustrator to create it and spent the most time working on the clock face. I tried to capture it as being the most menacing face imaginable. The guillotine was a bit smaller than I expected. I used typography on the chain that holds the blade, to better impress the words upon the viewer.
