Stampede of Stress: A Junior Experimental Project by Matthew Ford (2013)

What the project is representing is that the stress caused by school and the sports I play, represented by the elephant and the lacrosse stick, causes cracks and blemishes in the wall. The wall is representative of me. Underneath the cracked wall I placed a photo of a lacrosse net, to represent that no matter what I feel or experience, I always have lacrosse there for me. Even if the stress comes from my own perfectionism with lacrosse, it is the true love and passion of the game that always takes over and re-envelops my love of the sport, and life.

For the experimental unit, because we were on a strict deadline, I kept the medians that I used simple. I used basic digital photography and photoshop to edit the photos. I then used Adobe Illustrator to create the wall and the large split caused by the elephant. I borrowed the scan of the elephant from a peer, Parker Malachowsky, which he had scanned in from a piece of fabric. I kept it untrimmed because i believe it looked slightly more rugged and I thought it gave it a more untouched and deliberate look.
