Dragonborn Madness: A Senior Surreal Photo by Julia Day (2013)

My surreal photo draws inspiration from where the majority of surreal work originates: dreams. The texture in the background is oil on paper, the HDR photo is of a dragon plushie, and the only normal photo is of the boy, signifying that it is his dream. What makes this surreal and not fantasy is the fact that the dragon is plush and that the clouds are paint, making a scary and hard dragon soft and light innocent clouds heavy and pigmented. These are the kind of bizarre things we see in our wildest dreams.
