Clarity Or Lack Thereof: A Senior Surreal Photo by Melisa Jones (2013)

This is my photo for our surrealist unit. In order to make this piece, I combined two HDR (High Dynamic Range) photos of flowers I took using a Freestyle camera. The concept behind this piece was my observation of what I could remember from my various dreams. In my dreams, there would sometimes be an everyday object or subject that stood out to me in greater detail than the rest of my dream, which was blurred or fuzzy. However, even though this object was clearer than everything else, my view of it was still skewed in some way, as evidenced by the line effect I applied to the flowers using Photoshop.
