Jeff Webber: A Senior Profile Portrait by Christopher Thiem (2014)

For my senior profile portrait project I chose to focus on Jeff Webber, an entrepreneur who lives Northern California and commutes to work in the South Bay weekly by his private plane. He invests in mostly local start-ups in the Bay Area and has had many successful projects, but also some failures. He has overcome these failures and used them to become the businessman he is today, while still maintaining a fun and laid back personality.

The actual profile shot was difficult to choose as he seems comfortable in many different places. His office, his apartment in Menlo Park, and his house in Healdsburg seemed like good options, but in the end, the best choice for the photograph was him standing next to his plane. While it may not be the most efficient way to commute, his plane shows that he has passions that he pursues and that he makes the most out of what he has earned in his life.
