Wagon: A Junior Conceptual Transport Project by Emerson Domke (2017)

For this assignment, our project was to take a picture of an object with wheels used for transportation. We had to take an object we see everyday and use our knowledge of composition, lighting, and editing to make it looks as interesting as possible. In my photo, I took this wheel of a wagon that we might see regularly and purposely took the photo from a lower angle. Since we usually do not see this object from this angle, it changes our perspective and interests us more. When setting up the wagon, I put the dull, dirty wagon on the bright green grass to exaggerate the contrast of the colors. I chose a bigger aperture to further the idea of isolating the wagon from the grass.

While editing in Adobe Photoshop, I specifically worked with brush tools, practicing in both color and the sharpness of the foreground and background. I learned the importance of awareness of the whole program while editing. Thing includes simple things like making sure you are on the right tool or layer while changing one aspect. In the end, my photo included multiple layers, some changing the sharpness in the background or the contrast and color in the foreground and grass.
