My piece is about a dream that I’ve had of places that are very familiar where I’ve had fun experiences and how they are transformed into different mysterious and exciting places at nighttime. When I viewed these photos later, I was interested in how I got a much different feeling of the place and atmosphere, because of the darkness, bright lights and night life, than my have in my daytime memories of these very familiar locations. When the street lights turn on and different people come out, it feels mystical and surreal. The composition is created from two photos joined to look like one street. The two different locations are not even in the same city, or even similar surroundings (luxury shopping vs. ballpark), but share a feeling of excitement. What I want is to remind people about is the feeling of being a bit scared or excited because the night makes a known place feel strange and makes it feel like a different place.
