For my documentary I documented my grandpa, Mitzi Ferris, who worked in the Foreign Service and traveled throughout the world. Below you can see the introduction video I created about her.

Creating the magazine was a very long but rewarding process. We used Adobe InDesign to create the layout and design it. On the first page I tried to make the main photo look like a postcard because the article is about her life and her work overseas. For my background I used a world map because she traveled to many different cities and countries during her time in the Foreign Service. The journey of writing my article and transforming it into a magazine article started in English with the writing process. For me, writing the article was much harder than designing the magazine layout. Although it was a lot of work to fully publish the article, I am very satisfied with the result.
Mitiz Ferris is a retired Foreign Service worker who traveled throughout Europe during the 1950's and 60's. She was born in a small town in Wisconsin joined the Foreign Service after seeing an ad in the paper. She worked in different countries at the US Embassys until she got married in Baghdad. From there she followed her husband around Europe and the Middle East. She returned to Wisconsin with her husband and 5 children. f
Anne Ferris is the daughter of Mitzi Ferris. She was born in Nairobi while her parents were working abroad. She returned to the states with her family at a young age.
Anna Elkington is a friend of Mitzi Ferris who worked with her in the Foreign Service during her time at Baghdad. The two still keep in touch today.
