Introduction
Welcome to my website! My name is Julianne, and I’m a senior at Mountain View High School and Freestyle Academy. As a first year senior, you will find the projects I've completed this year including my Profile, Narrative 2, Innovator Project, and Portfolio. During my time at Freestyle Academy, I have learned countless skills that will help me with my future, finding jobs in fields such as communications, public relations, and advertisment. This website is here to showcase the work I completed during my first and last year at Freestyle Academy.
Profile
My Profile project was done on my friend and mentor, Vicki Amon Higa and her work with Animal Assisted Happiness (AAH), a program bringing animal therapy to children in the community. I had worked closely with Vicki in the past, so interviewing and shadowing her was natural for me. I also interviewed her daughter, Maya, and long time volunteer, Jon. Included along with my profile paper, are photos of Vicki working with her volunteers at AAH events. To view my profile website, click the image below.
Narrative 2
For the Narrative 2 unit, we were required to write an original short story and then create a book jacket and book trailer to go along with it. I chose to write a comedic mystery using my friends as character inspiration. I wrote my story, entitled Puddles and Whale: A Strange Case Indeed, in English, I used InDesign and Photoshop to create my book jacket in Design, and then used AfterEffects, ProTools, and Photoshop to create my book trailer in WebAudio. Innovator
For my Innovator Project I worked with my classmate Emily Andreas to record two cover songs, and then write and record our own original song. During this project we learned the ins and outs of how to work in a recording studio and use the ProTools applications. After we recorded our songs, we then each created two lyric videos, one for the respective songs that we chose to cover, and one for the original song we wrote. Portfolio
The Portfolio was the last project of the year. Our task was to choose our two best projects and create a website to showcase them for a panel of staff members, professionals in our field, and a person of our choice. I chose to use WordPress to create my website as I was up for the challenge of learning a new application, and it was slightly easier to customize. On this website, I chose to showcase my profile magazine and my book jacket from the narrative unit. To view my portfolio website, click below.
