For the Junior Documentary Project, I portrayed two couples’ love stories, gathering primary and secondary research sources to develop a distinct perspective about their significance to the world. The research-based paper from English serves as the copy for the magazine article in Design and website. This unit emphasizes narrative-style journalism.
The thought behind my documentary project was the wisdom and importance that the elderly have. I thought about how tarnished our generation’s idea of love generally is, and I thought about how it used to be. I wanted to share the real stories of two senior couples to let everyone hear and learn from them.
From this project, I value the lessons I learned, the people I got to talk to, the skills I learned, and the wisdom I gained. I have always had a soft spot for elderly people, my heartwarming when I see a couple walking in a park together or getting a morning coffee, so I cherished these interviews listening to them telling their stories so lively and excited. I learned important lessons about persistence and commitment, the structured part of a relationship, along with experiences, gifts, jokes, and memories made with the unpredictability of love.
English
In English, we first wrote the documentary paper sectioned off into the different parts of the story. Here is an attached PDF of my raw essay.
Design
While doing the interview, I took many pictures of the two couples, their homes, and things that were prominent in their stories.
