Hello and welcome to my documentary website! Here you'll find a collection of projects that I completed in Web/Audio, English, and Design for this unit. This project involved thoroughly exploring a location-based topic and developing an interesting stance on the "untold story" of the place. The various projects I completed gave me an opportunity to scope out the location in depth and get to know its atmosphere and people. For example, in English I began by compiling research on an issue related to the location I selected and taking a position on the situation in my research paper. I examined the role of the fabric recycling business, Fabmo, in the context of the larger impact of textile production on the environment and wove Fabmo's mission and stories in throughout my writing. In Design, I actually produced a printed book that included photographs and design elements that took the paper to the next level. And in Web/Audio, I created a website featuring all my projects and an audio/visual slideshow that combined photographs, interview audio, and a recitation of my condensed paper. For these projects, I used applications such as InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and ProTools and improved upon my technical skills while growing as an individual and artist as well.

While this project made me a better photographer and writer, I was able to take a lot more away from the experience than learning how to use these programs. Reaching out to Fabmo and interviewing its employees and customers helped me open up and increased my confidence in communicating with people I had never met before. Creating the book and website forced me to stop focusing so much on perfection and take a holistic approach in my design. Learning about textiles and Fabmo's initiative inspired me both as an artist and an innovator. Seeing the Fabmo members incorporate fabric into their art in fresh ways motivated me to do the same some day, and witnessing firsthand how the founders, Hannah and Jonathan Cranch, found a cause and acted upon it in such a noble way was simply awe-inspiring. I also absorbed the passion radiating from every single person I encountered during the production of this project and applied it to my work, and I hope that in exploring my projects you are able to pick up on it and let it flow into you!

In Web/Audio, we also learned more about how to use audio production softwares such as Reason and ProTools. I produced the audio above using the programs we have been continuing to master.
