To create my magazine article I had to mainly use the programs Adobe Indesign, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. All the work needed to do to make the actual magazine, like setting up the page layouts, arranging all the images and the text, etc, was done in Adobe Indesign. I used Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop to edit and tinker with the images that were to be put in my magazine. I used Photoshop to edit all the pictures that I had taken and were to be added to the magazine pages. I used Adobe Illustrator and a phone app called Genius Scan to create the drop cap for my Article. I used Genius Scan to take a picture of the sketch I had created on paper and to upload it. Then I downloaded it on the computer and used Illustrator to trace over the sketch with the pen tool, fill it with color, and export it as a .png file. One of the challenges that I faced and am proud of overcoming is making a bleed image of the pyramids to cover the bottom area of my page. The problem in creating this was that a lot of the good functions in the Adobe programs are not easy to do in the other Adobe programs, so I had to switch between the software a lot. First I had to open the image in photoshop and change it's colors so that it matched my Pantone theme for my magazine better, because my magazine’s background color was too similar to the color of the sand and because we had to change our image at least seventy five percent. Then I had to save the file and open it up in Illustrator because the pen tool in Illustrator let's you add a stroke to your path, while the pen tool in Photoshop does not. So I used the pen tool to outline the separation of the pyramids and the sky. Then I had to save the image again, and open it in Photoshop so that I could use the quick selection tool to select all the sky and delete it. Then I had the image that I wanted and I could finally add it in my magazine.
