me

Unlike most kids, I was raised on black and white, not technicolor. I knew Capra and Hitchcock before I knew Home Alone, and I knew Hogan's Heroes before I knew Disney channel. In addition, I occasionally choose to do things the old-fashioned way. For example, I always send postcards on vacations rather than emails, and so for my first website I choose to make it like an old-fashioned drive in movie theater, something unique and quirky that not many people know about or go to very often. That's kind of like me because I'm a pretty generic person but I have some really random aspects to my personality. A drive in is more than a movie, it's the whole experience. For me, I like the traveling and the road trip just as much as the destination, and I also would rather travel by train than airplane for the view. I hope this website refelcts my love of things old and unique.

Each page of this website showcases a slightly different part of me. My podcast page lists ten things I've learned in my life so far, a list I had fun creating. I was interesting to see what life lessons and mottos I could pull from my life so far, and I think I might start to keep a mental list of these going in my head. My friends and family pages show how much I care about the people in my life, they all are are part of my life in a different way and I love how I'm lucky enough to have such amazingly diverse people in my life. My diptych and illustration forced me to analyze parts of my own personality, which is actually an interesting experience. It's kind of interesting to look at all the pictures ive taken so far here at Frestyle, and I can tell Im going to be adding a lot more pretty soon. All I've got so far is in my webgallery, which we made using photoshop to generate for us.

It's been only weeks since I knew nothing about these programs, but now I think I'm begining to know something about them. I used garageband for the podcast, illustrator for all of the graphics you see on the site, and dreamweaver to create the template and individual pages of this website. Illustrator brought challenges with the pen tool, at first frustrating but now I'm begining to make peace with it. Garageband and I had some issues with volume control, and Dreamweaver and I will continue to fight over div tags.

After all the fighting with Dreamweaver and Illustrator, I'm happy to have a finished product that I'm so proud of.

I hope you enjoy it!
