Our second unit at Freestyle was the narrative unit. In this unit we learned how to write stories in different ways, and how to portray them to the world in various arts of communication.
First, we wrote multiple stories in English, in many contrasting ways. We wrote a 55 fiction, which is a story written in only 55 words or less. Then we wrote a Flash Fiction, which is a fiction written in 300 to 700 words. We also made a graphic novel in English, which we later produced into an animation in webAudio.
In webAudio we created an animatic and animation related to our graphic novel. To make the animatic and animation we used Flash. Learning and using Flash was a very long and tedious process. But, after finishing my animation, I felt super accomplished and proud of myself. We also made this website to show the world our creations.
In design, we portrayed our stories through photography and graphic design. First, we took a diptych picture showing an internal and external conflict in a story and the point of no return. Then, we made an illustration depicting one of our stories metaphorically. To create the diptych, we used Photoshop, to create the illustration, we used Adobe Illustrator.
You can find all my projects in english, web, and design on this website. I decided to portray another story through this website's design. I love balloons and really wonder what the world what look like if you could fly away with just balloons. So, I decided to create my narrative website about this curiosity.
