With the dissemination of information via social media, it is of utmost importance for individuals to be able to critically evaluate it. Fake news is not a recent concept, but it remains a common phenomenon in our time. This PSA is a mere reminder to dedicate a bit of time to assessing information with systematic literature review.
The color scheme reflects political affiliations since red, blue, and white carry significant symbolism, making them commonly chosen colors in country flags. Newspapers are a popular means of spreading messages, hence its placement front and center, but I made sure not to neglect the commonly used social media platforms (top left). Notice the character on the cover, the pointy nose is a reference to Pinocchio, highlighting the fact that lies are present.
As this was my first time using Illustrator for such a project, logistical hurdles were inevitable, but with the support of my awesome Design teacher and classmates, I prevailed to the point that I can confidently say that maneuvering in Adobe Illustrator has gotten proficient; something I pride myself with.
