Control: A Senior Surreal Photo by Caitlin Lewis (2013)

This image started with a dream I had. The details are a little shaking, but I woke up with an intense feeling of fear after it. In class, I choose the word power to be situated with my image because it is an antonym to fear. I chose to portray power by having a child controlling the flower sun. The black-and white picture of the boy, portrayed by my brother Christopher. The clouds below him were drawn by me in photoshop and the background light texture was from a very opaque image of rocks. The HDR photo was of a yellow flower. For an HDR Image, you take three pictures of the same thing WITHOUT moving the camera all with different exposures. You then layer them so that you get the darkest shadows and the lightest lights.
