Creating this poster didn't feel like work. Instead, this was more of a playing experience for me. I used art I made for a redesign of the Pokemon, Toucannon, and created a poster to showcase this design. I used a fictionalized event and created absurd information that may pass at a first glance, but if thought upon, it becomes clear this is a joke. I wanted a light hearted and playful tone for the serious bird.
I used InDesign to format the poster and place my artwork, made on Clip Studio Paint, in frames. I applied effects to the font and images to add depth and also varied my font to clearly show which information can be found where. I even implemented a QR code I hope to see viewers use. At the top left corner of the page, I eye-dropped colors from the beak to create unity and a border of the lightest yellow frames the pale white box. The background image behind was made by taking a Google image and then applying filters such as overlay and glow dodge. I used a brush to add some light specks and implemented some rays of light.
