For my Adobe InDesign flyer project, I decided to create a promotional flyer for the hip-hop music festival, Rolling Loud. It is no doubt one of the biggest music festivals in the world, especially for the rap genre, and they feature hundreds of artists over the course of a couple days. I have a special relationship with this event as it was the first music festival I ever attended. Prior to that, I just went to concerts with my family and friends to see one particular artist, but never a multi-day festival. This occurred back in 8th grade and I had one of the best times of my life. I was a little 14 year old kid clumped together with thousands of other people listening to some of my favorite artists mosh-pitting. Very surprised I didn’t get crushed. Nonetheless, ever since then I’ve been trying to go again whenever the festival comes back to the Bay Area, but it hasn’t quite fit into my schedule. I do have one of their flyers for the event I went to though so it inspired me to make a flyer for Rolling Loud for this project. Yet, only this time, I did it for their upcoming festival in Miami, this summer. There are certain colors I associate with Miami, especially bright-ish colors, so I decided to go with a nice pink and have it from a gradient into a purple color as the background. There are hundreds of artists that attend the festival, but I decided to highlight a couple of the biggest names that would automatically draw people’s interests in attending the event. Miami is also known for its beaches and exotic cars so I decided to throw those in as well as a nice little touch. This was also one of the projects I enjoyed the most, I never knew that making flyers could be so fun. So with that being said, maybe I could reach out to some companies, enhance my skills, and start making flyers to earn an income.
