Blurred Vision

I believe that people can understand me best by listening to what I am saying, looking into my eyes, and most tellingly feeling the embrace of my arms. My photograph pictorially represents this in several ways. While most of my photo is blurred, my eyes and mouth are not, representing the fact that my impact on the world and the world’s impact on me is a very important part of my existence. The slight blurring of my mouth is to show that my words are not always exactly what I am trying to express. My eyes are crystal clear however, to allow the viewer to focus in on them, and thus understand me nevertheless. The eye that is not cut off plays a crucial role in the composition of the piece. It has another photograph in it as to represent my love for nature, and my love for the world. I am an intimate person, and my objective in this photograph was to portray this part of my character, as signified by my arms spread out. The softness of the photo with the Gaussian blur is another compliment to my intimacy that I try to show. The angle of the camera was chosen as to show that I do not mind what people think of my outer features, but close and intimate to show that my love for people. My convictions are depicted through the framing, the soft light, the lighter contrast, the arms spread, the close-up shot, the softness, and the sharpness of the eyes and mouth. I am a loving person, I care for people, I love the world, I want hugs, I try to include, I hope for the best, I am outgoing, I invite people to empathize with me, take my personality and mold their own descriptions of my soul. I want to not be judgmental or superficial, and see other’s true character. This is my true character, and that is what I want the viewer to be impacted by, so that they listen to me, look into my eyes, and put themselves in my arms.
