Exploring is to search or travel for the purpose of discovery and in my art piece I am exploring to discover. Discover new things about myself, searching for my true self and my purpose. I want to find out who I really am and what is ahead for me. In my piece I am a silhouette through a hole in the fence, I am heading towards a door leading to the mysterious outside world not knowing where it will lead. I chose a hole in the fence because it will raise curiosity for the viewer of what’s on the other side. I chose the fence is because if I go outside I can go left, right, and straight a fence won’t stop me from seeing what’s on the other side. My silhouette is filled with the texture of grass, because when an object casts a shadow over the grass, the shadow tends to deform and this symbolizes the reflection of whoI really am; lost and confused.

I added the door because when leaving a room you leave behind everything this symbolizes a new place to find peace and tranquility and to forget the past. The small room symbolizes my feeling of always being trapped and not knowing how to escape. I hope the audience will become curious and want to explore more for themselves to discover new things.
