My parody is based on Madvillain’s “ALL CAPS.” I chose to focus on the tough situations in school, particularly my own junior year, which, despite only being a few weeks in, is already starting to put pressure on me. I wanted to vent a little through this song while also trying to humor myself by rewriting it. I felt I really grew my technical skills by learning Adobe Audition’s many functions and it was fun to play around with all the pitch shifters and changing my voice to make it sound weird. I did struggle a little when I went into the recording studio as I never really had the confidence to sing and the iso-booths are quiet but not sound proof. I found myself self conscious but after a few takes I think I managed to break past that wall just a little after telling myself everyone else is doing it too. If I were to do it again, I think I would be even more confident when speaking to really emphasize some of those points in the song I tried to make.
