Freestyle's For Me!

For this project, we worked in pairs to produce a parody song to an existing melody with our own lyrics and editing of the audio track using Adobe Audition. We learned how to create MultiTrack sessions, add mono tracks, trimmed and edited tracks to create crossfading, and so much more. Going into this project, our inspiration was the copious amount of opportunities given to us at Freestyle Academy, along with parts of our personal experience during our first month here. To do this, we decided to use the theme song of a beloved childhood show, Sofia the First. We grew through the struggles we encountered both technically and creatively, and overall learned a massive amount about the skills and techniques associated with editing audio with Adobe Audition. Some of the obstacles we overcame were making our tracks sound coherent and smooth, as well as balancing the volume levels of all the different clips, but ultimately worked these issues out with the help of our peers and working through our mistakes. If I had more time to work on this parody song, I would probably work on the length of it and possibly double the relatively short intro track we used, which would allow us to add more lyrics and create a little bit of a more enjoyable listener experience. Adding on, the part of this project that I am most proud of personally are the lyrics, mostly because they reflect the short period of time where we were adapting to the new campus and curriculum at Freestyle, and convey our excitement about our enrollment here. Ultimately, we discovered many things about the way that the Adobe programs work, as well as what is expected of us as students here, but most significantly, we realized how much we are looking forward to taking advantage of our time here for the next two years.
