I created a parody of the Caillou intro song, turning it into a funny song about a kid named Saillou. This parody was inspired by the memories of the show that I have forever burned into my memory, in addition to the funny remakes of songs my dad and I used to make when I was little. The idea revolves around Saillou’s exaggerated and stubborn language, which makes this relatable for most, as a lot of us know how annoying the original show was.
I very much despise hearing my voice in an audio form, but I felt proud of how I managed to make the lyrics entertaining, relatable, and appropriate. Additionally, I became more familiar with Adobe Audition through editing techniques and effects, such as normalizing, reverbing, and pitch changing, which added a nice touch to my parody.
Through this process, I learned how to enhance audio in a more creative way than simply adding sound effects and filters to my song (my prior attempt at a parody…) For example, I now know how to use reverb to set a certain mood or adjust volumes and pitches to touch up a recording. Adjusting where you hear the song coming from at different times was really fun to mess with as well. The time and effort I put into this project made me realize how much dedication goes into creating something polished and entertaining.
