For my parody song, I chose Let Down by Radiohead. The reason I chose this was because it was one of the songs that I'd been playing on repeat recently. When figuring out what I wanted to change the lyrics and meaning to, I was having a difficult time because at the time I couldn't think of many situations in which i found myself in a relatable and yet funny predicament. And so I took some time to brainstorm issues that I find myself in, and the issue of always misplacing my school ID came up.
What I appreciated most about the process of production was having the opportunity to take the time to become familiar with Adobe Audition. I'm a bit of a slow learner, and so it was great to go between videos and instructions at my own pace.
I am most proud of the editing I did for the parody. Often do I feel like I'm not really learning even though I'm at school, but with this project, it came as pleasantly challenging. The lyrics of my parody center around losing your ID and having to get it replaced, which is pretty expensive, but also, with the school district's integration of Minga into the system for checking students in and out of classrooms, it feels almost like having physical student IDs has become obsolete.
