When this project was given to us, Cesar and I were both sick at the same time. We thought about it, then came up with the idea of singing about being sick while being sick. We ended up going with APT not for any specific reason other than it sounded fun and the lyrics came to us over Imessage.
At first, the lyrics started off as just a joke about us both being sick, but then it sort of just started to click. We used most if not all the lyrics we came up with over text before tweaking them a bit until it became the final product. I think I’m most proud of how we were able to turn something that bummed us out into a catchy song which we can now laugh at. I loved seeing the final result just tie itself together and come out nicely. One small insight of my part of the song, all of the coughs were in fact real.
