Freestyle Academy proudly presents
I chose Straight Outta Compton to parody because I thought it would be ironic that I was talking about Atherton in a "gangster" song.
I wrote all of the lyrics on a google doc and made sure they lined up on each bar. Some lyrics I intentionally made incredibly off beat to make it sound less serious. Then I recorded the vocals and used the best take of each bar.
I found recording the vocals very fun because it made me feel like a real musician. I based all of the lyrics on, Paul Allen, one of the cofounders of Microsoft. All of the lyrics are actual facts about him such as his conflict with Bill Gates and his 88' Mazda B-Series. I'm most proud of making this song light hearted and with a little bit of actual substance with regards to the life of one of Microsofts founders.
