I decided to do a parady on "Washing Machine Heart" by Mitski. I think that by now, most people, regaurdless of if they listen to her or not, know that Mitski's songs are pretty gut wrenching. I wanted to make the song fun - so I decided to sing about the recent tiktok and gen Z trends. I find it really funny how much people have been obessing over labubus, matcha, dubai chocolate, and Sephora skincare in 2024-2025.
I honestly procrastinated coming up with the lyrics until the last moment becuse I was so worried about making things rhyme and sound good, but then I reminded myself that it's a parody song, and It's really not that deep. Now, I'm fully aware that my singing brings tears to people's eyes, (Not in the good way though) but I had a lot of fun recording and editing this. Looking back, I would have probably added more sound effects, and layered voicovers to make it more interesting, but I couldn't really figure out what to say or do.
There's not supposed to be a deep and meaningful message behind these lyrics. It's just supposed to be funny. think the thing that I'm most proud of is just putting together the whole thing, which doesn't seem like much, but I'm still proud of it.
