The song "Lose Yourself" by Eminem inspired me to write a parody about school grades because the song made me feel warm and fuzzy inside, and i wanted to talk about school grades because it was an important topic to me. What I valued most about the process of making a parody was the message of the lyrics. Specifically, I think that grades are a stupid idea that works alright in practice. The grading system incentivizes students to do it for the number, rather than genuinely learning, and I don't have a strong alternative option because I have been indoctrinated into this idea and cannot think of anything else to replace it; that is what my message of my song is about.
