PHP
PHP is a magical component for building websites. I have learned a lot about the skeleton behind the most popular sites that are used everyday. I understand the framework and structure of PHP and how the basic language works. The way PHP communicates between each line of code is now more comprehensible for me. I can simply describe the way form fields display and function on the web page. Mainly, I learned that PHP can utilize the live web server and what I create in php will put itself together right on the page. I can have one style sheet for as many different content areas. When a link to a specific page is click, it accesses the PHP file on the web server.
Narrative
The main goal for the narrative 2 unit was to tell a convincing story with dialogue and engaging action. Producing the first piece of the story began in English class. We were required to write up a screenplay that we then adapted into a screenplay. With the core themes and story outlines complete, we transferred the story over to Design class where we created an authentic book jacket which is displayed on my design page. After the narrative portion was wrapped up, the next assignment was to incorporate an animation and collection of art from Design and English into an intuitive PHP website.
Overview
In Design, we started the surrealism portion of this unit. Using the principles of narrative storytelling, our goal was to tell a surreal story. Meanwhile in English, we were enacting the play in the book, “Rhinoceros” by Ionesco, to better understand narrative surrealism. The two classes formed the essential goals to the narrative unit that are shown and expressed in my narrative website.
