Hi my name is Addison Locke!

I took animation at freestyle in my senior year as I didn’t go to freestyle in my junior year. This year I learned how to animate digitally in both 3d and 2d. Even though I am taking an animation course, I am more interested in illustration. The reason behind this choice is to develop my digital drawing skills. Other than illustration, I have a big interest in video games, and because of this I am striving to become a conceptual artist for entertainment medias.

For my showcase I’ve chosen to show my zenith project and personal illustrations of my own.

In the Zenith project, me and another student collaborated. I did most of the 2d animation for the main character. While I am sad that we were too ambitious and were not , we were unable to finish as much as we had planned in the end, I am proud of my work. As for my personal illustrations, all of these taken have been made within the last 3 years. Most of them being monochromatic as I have yet to experiment enough with colour for me to be confident using it.

Since I am striving to go into an illustration field, and am not extremely serious about animation, I would like simple ways or mindsets to increase efficiency in drawing out frames.

Whereas, for my illustrations would like your feedback on how to improve my compositions, how emotions are portrayed through my pieces, if my pieces seem like a single scene in an entirely different world, and if not how to further my education in doing so.

Next year I will be attending Laguna College of Art and Design, with an illustration track in entertainment design. I intend to create conceptual art to help create worlds. Right now I am slowly working on improving my digital skills as I wish to use digital commonly as opposed to traditional medias.
