In Film class this unit, we worked on reflecting on who we were as people through a short video essay–and when I say short, I mean short! We were required to make a two-minute video essay that gave the viewer an insight into who we were as people, or into our thought process. I chose to write about my “procrastination” habit–and how it wasn’t a negative.
I used a DSLR to film myself traveling up a mountain, metaphor for conquering a project. I’m very pleased with how this piece looks–I think the footage I shot is pretty “artsy”, and I think that the black-and-white color-grade I added on it adds to the experience. I chose to narrate this slowly to fill the viewer with a sense of how I approach projects–slow and steady. Overall, I’m very proud of this video–I think it summarizes my Film experience so far quite well. I’m excited to continue “procrastinating” on my future projects!
