Welcome to My Music Video Website
created here at Freestyle. Like all of the other websites created here at Freestyle, we used Adobe Dreamweaver to create our own pages. In our Sixth unit, our goal was to produce our very own music video from scratch. We were first assigned groups, two film students and two web audio students, to create our videos. My group for this unit was Hope Moseley, Elizabeth Miotke, and Audrey Gerughty. We were required to produce our own audio and footage in order to create our video. For the music, my group used both Pro Tools 11 and Reason. We used both live and digital
instruments for our song called "My Day". For the footage, our group used Final Cut Pro in order to edit and format our footage for the video. For our song, I produced the beat and the recording of the ukulele. Audrey Gerughty was our vocalist for the song and Elizabeth and Hope were our film and editors. This project really gave me the full experience of what it's like to produce an actual song from scratch. Before this unit, my idea of the production of a song was just vocals and the beat but I was far from right. This unit really allowed me to learn more about the effects and options that are available to you in Pro Tools; I used
several instances of Reverb and Compressors, I finally figured how to deal with EQ's and filters, and I also learned how to identify the tempos of beats and reformat the audio to fit a different tempo. This unit really just brought me into the mixing process of audio and it really helped a lot. I really enjoyed this unit because I had a fun time filming for our video and I'm also proud of the outcome of our song. I was proud of the fact that I was able to produce my very own professional-sounding track. In this website, you can see my various pieces of media created throughout this unit. Enjoy!
