About me

My name is Albert Kuo, I am a junior at Los Altos High School and Freestyle Academy. I am an animation student, I wanted to learn animation because I’m good at drawing. I am a pianist and cellist, and I regularly play with other instruments in ensembles. Aside from the arts, I’m on the cross-country team for Los Altos.
My core values in life are being motivated to do everything, even if the task/challenge is new, and having the grit and determination to accomplish your goals even if they seem impossible. Dedicating something to the goal no matter how much will eventually lead to success.
I bike and run long distances, mainly to see scenery and improve my physical endurance. Someday I would like to bikepack longer distances. For instruments, I learned the cello first and then the piano. I found out I liked to play the piano more, so the piano is now my main instrument. I practice piano regularly to improve my repertoire and technique to prepare for the conservatory level in college. For cello, I play with local high school students in ensembles.
My expectations as a freestyle student are to learn how to use basic media software like Adobe Photoshop and tools such as a recording studio. Artistically, I want to create more realistic animation in my animation elective, hopefully by the end of this school year.
As a Freestyle Academy student, I value creativity as it is what fuels our work. Use your ideas first and see before looking for inspiration. It is also important to pay attention when the teacher goes over how to use a specific software or device that is new to you, you may never use these skills at the moment but they can be useful later on in the future.
