Art I would ADD to my Personal Museum

Things to Come by Elizabeth Murray

This is the last piece I chose that I felt was attention-worthy because of the dynamic form it holds. I have a hard time looking away from this artwork, because the way it's painted and the way the material curls into itself creates an illusion of a never-ending three-dimensional shape. It reminds me of a broken antique vase with water spilling out, implied by a crack and rounded edges, as well as a spout-like hole in the middle. This is important to me because it takes on a very bold form using bright colors and an unconventional composition to make something that, which in contrast, appears quite fragile and beautiful.
