Throughout the Explorations Project, I was able to explore a topic that I am very interested in – screenwriting. I have always been interested in writing my own scripts, but I never had an understanding of how a script is supposed to be organized. ""However, by researching and understanding how professionals write dialogue and detail, I learned that I could try to do the same.

Progression

As my explorations project furthered, I took multiple screenshots to show the progress that I was making. Here are some of those screenshots.

As I progressed my story, I decided to change the name of my characters. Even though this was a very minor change, I felt better once I changed the names because when I said them aloud, it seemed to fit better in the story. In these screenshots, the organization that I researched is also presented. When writing screenplays, it is important that the frame and structure is consistent with what everybody is familiar with so that the text can be spoken like a film.

Final Product

As seen by my production shots, my final product was a script that I decided to write, following important rules of screenwriting. These rules are described in the presentation, and are very important in making sure a screenplay is effective and enthralling. After all, the screenplay is the part of a film that forms the bond between the film and the viewer.
