Use Color Grading to create an image that looks like it is a still from a movie.” For this assignment, I decided to use a photo I had taken on a walk through a salt marsh with my family. It had pretty nice balance of blue and warm colors to begin with, but I thought that it could look better if I pushed some of the values. Using Adobe Photoshop, I used “color grading” to change the values in the photo to more of a purplish-blue and orangish-red range. I also added a multiply layer and lessened the opacity to darken the photo a bit, since it had come out pretty bright. I like the way it came out, though I am also curious what might happen if I pushed the blue colors more towards green-blue/teal instead of purple. Here is the resource I used to learn how to color grade in Photoshop.

https://www.google.com/url?q=https://capturetheatlas.com/long-exposure-night-photography/&sa=D&source=editors&ust=1736728239470505&usg=AOvVaw0aJAeimILxaRFUz4__fvR2

Before Editing

After Editing

(1/320 sec, f/5.6, ISO 100)

This week’s prompt was “Color Theory is a huge part of composition that most photographers don’t explore.
