Narrative 1

Creating a visual narrative was along and thoughtful process. I started with an idea that came to my head first, and then scrapped it. It was important to me that I have multiple options when it came to writing a visual narrative because it gives me more variety to work with. I partnered up with Daphne Heatherly and we decided to create a short film of a mime who can’t mime. This whole process really helped me strengthen my character building as well as my storytelling. I also learned how to really “show” and not tell.

In English, we were given the assignment of writing a flash fiction. The process was very broad and allowed me to explore more of the creative parts of myself. My teacher Mr.Greco really pushed me to become a better writer and storyteller and because of that, I was able to feel more confident about my writing and the story I wanted. My inspiration for the story was of an old man on a prairie, sort of a country small town vibe. When it came to producing the audio production, I went into the recording pods and immediately went for it without practice of rehearsal. I knew exactly what I wanted and I knew how to achieve it. I then placed my speaking into an audio platform and added sound affects that I felt added to the mood. Overall I had a great time making the audio production as well as the flash fiction itself.
