Humor is one of the most effective persuasive techniques creatives have, so it made sense to center a whole unit around it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rhetorical Analysis<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We began humor by reading Kurt Vonneguts \u201cSlaughterhouse Five\u201d and analyzed its various comedic techniques and how it ties into its broader themes of war. We then did a rhetorical analysis of a humorous text of our choosing. I decided to work with my friend Hannah. We found we both enjoyed absurd humor and satire and we had both analyzed those techniques in our rhetorical analysis\u2019s, so we chose to focus on those elements a lot in our final production.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our humor production idea was to create a short excerpt of a mock-five year anniversary documentary for my Zenith production which was a storyboarded episode of my story Bewilthred called \u201cTraining Practice\u201d. The final production includes various testimonials, behind the scenes footage, and fan tributes. We were able to get all of our shots recorded in a few sessions using various guest appearances such as getting our friend Mao to dress up as the Freestyle mascot for one of the testimonials. We also took advantage of the various props in the green screen rooms to help sell some of the more tense scenes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once we moved to editing, the majority of the work was in compiling and finding cool editing tricks to really sell the humor we had in mind.
