Frame Within The Frame
I took this photo in the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles. The composition contains two frames within frames: one is the frame of the mirror, and the other is the frame of the window in the reflection.

I was inspired by the suncatcher prism I have in front of my window. I angled my camera to look through the suncatcher so that I could see the light refraction in my camera. Even though the photo appears to have a blurring filter on it, it is merely a result of my suncatcher. The …
In this photograph, I creatively used a relatively deep depth of field to emphasize the subject in the background. I lined the fence up with the bottom of the life guard tower to give the illusion that the fence is supporting the tower; in other words, I used depth of field to manipulate the distance …
I took this photo from a unique viewpoint, from the rock on which my friend was standing. This perspective is manipulated because it appears that my friends shoes, in the foreground, are much larger than the vast landscape and clouds in the background of the photo.
I photographed my friend in the car because I thought the harsh lighting was really beautiful. I edited the image in photoshop to make the highlights more orange and the shadows more green/blue. This increased the contrast between the light and dark parts of the photo because orange and blue are complementary colors.
For this prompt, I took a photo of the redwood grove at Shoup Park. I angled the camera up and utilized a worm’s eye view in order to capture the shape that the tops of the trees create in the sky. I chose to make the photo black and white using Photoshop because I think …
I took this photo of my friend Eva when we were at the SF Museum of Modern Art. She’s clearly displaying a lot of shock and perhaps even horror through her expression. I chose to place the center of her face on the upper left third of the composition to fulfill this week’s prompt.
I filled the frame in this photo by photographing an extreme close up of my watercolor brush in a cup of water. The blue watercolor pigment is spreading throughout the cup and therefore filling the frame.
I placed myself in the center of the frame and faced the camera for this photo so that my face would appear symmetrical. The symmetrical composition of this photograph additionally emphasizes my facial symmetry. In this picture, I’m focused on drawing in my sketchbook.
To fulfill this prompt, I decided to photograph the pendant light in my kitchen. I used a low shutter speed to make the photo underexposed because I wanted to separated the light from its environment. This resulted in an almost eerie, alien-like saucer. In Photoshop, I added a violet Color Filter to make the light …
