ABOUT THIS PODCAST

Our podcast is called Sims in a Pool with no Ladders. A single episode recording where me and Isabella discuss the Sims, and the relationship between simulation games and the simulation theory.

PODCASTER BIOS

Cat: That’s me, I’m a senior in high-school, to study illustration in college. I like to try all kinds of games.

Isabella: She is my partner for the podcast unit. Isabella doesn’t play much games (aside from on her phone), but she does like to play Sims 4, sometimes forgetting to sleep.

INTRODUCTION

The podcast unit urges us to discuss topics we find interesting and fun. I saw this unit as an opportunity to emulate the podcasts that I enjoy. For this podcast I looked to the Jenna & Julien podcast for inspiration, the informal and humorous tone of the podcast makes it relaxing to listen to.

REFLECTION

I don’t like the sound of my voice, nor do I think I’m very charismatic. The podcast unit forced me to attempt to be that person, and it was pretty enjoyable in the end. We had to take two takes, the second one being more concise and focused, while, I feel, having a good balance of silly fun and information. Upon listening to the podcast several times more, I wish we had tied the point about the Sims better to the simulation theory. The theory comes a bit out of left field in my opinion.
