Narrative 2.0

The senior narrative unit's purpose is to explore techniques to telling dialogue-driven stories. The first component, produced for English, was a short story which was adapted into a screenplay. Our Design assignment was to create a book jacket for our story, as if it was about to be published as a hardcover novel.

This unit had a surrealist twist, so to better learn about surrealism and dialogue between characters we read/performed aloud the play "Rhinoceros" by Ionesco. The fast paced, absurd banter between characters was enjoyable to go through, and left us with a new perspective on how to convey a story using mostly interaction between characters.

In addition to reading "Rhinoceros," we created surrealist compositions in Design using HDR photography. The composition itself needed to tell a story, which is where it ties back in to the over-arching unit.

The assignments for this unit in WebAudio were to create a website (the one you're looking at right now) and an animation created in Adobe After Effects for our narratives. We also learned a lot of PHP coding to augment the function of our websites, and learn how certain features such as email forms and password protection are created for websites using PHP.

This unit was long and expansive in its scope, I hope you enjoy the results of my efforts.
