Inspired by my childhood in Mexico, I decided to make my product a contemporary version of agua fresca<\/em>, which is a traditional fresh fruit drink. My product’s target audience is young adults (21-35), particularly college students, in upper-middle socioeconomic classes. My product is for the culturally curious, striving to target people who want to explore new customs and explore beyond their flavor comfort zone while purchasing a somewhat familiar product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My advertisement will primarily rely on the transfer technique, in which I will display media of people partying, hanging out with their friends, and having a uniquely good time. This will lead them to associate these memories with my product. My advertisement will also have elements of bandwagon because I want to show that this is the \u201cnew cool drink\u201d that everyone else is drinking it and by not purchasing it, the viewer will be missing out on the fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I created my product using Adobe Illustrator for the logo design and Photoshop for the label assembly. One of my largest struggles was narrowing my ideas down to a single product. I had so many intriguing views on how I could potentially tackle the product and design- from jamaica (hibiscus tea), cucumber lime, tamarind, and guava lime flavors, to designs that were much more abstract, flashy, and patterned. In the end, I am very happy with the product I created, and I hope to see it in stores someday!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Movie Poster- The Second Sex<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
My movie poster depicts a docudrama based on the French philosopher Simone de Beauvoir, who was a pioneering figure of contemporary philosophical feminism. Thought to be one of the major catalysts for the Second Wave Feminism movement, she is recognized for her controversial stance that \u201cone is not born, but rather becomes, a woman\u201d. My movie takes place in Paris during the mid-1900s and narrates a dramatized version of de Beauvoir\u2019s devoutly Catholic upbringing (and eventual conversion to atheism), controversial relationship with fellow existentialist philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre, her infamous affair with one of her students, and the motivations behind the creation of her most notable novel, The Second Sex. The movie will emphasize the world\u2019s attempt to silence de Beauvoir, including instances where her literature was regarded as pornography by its critics, forbidden by the Vatican, and had its translations suppressed in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The poster displays the silhouette of a well-dressed woman to represent de Bevioir, highlighting the emphasis on women\u2019s dress etiquette over intellectual capability at the time. In the background, an illustration of Paris in the 60s is shown. The entire graphic is composed of mellow, serious, and earthy shades to match the general tone. I created my poster using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. The background photo was edited in Photoshop, while the graphics were created using Illustrator. My biggest challenge for this project was brainstorming the idea and story for my movie. While I was originally juggling a multitude of Horror\/Action themed movies, I ended up settling with this idea after finding the book The Second Sex on sale, reading it, and becoming highly invested with Simone de Beauvoir\u2019s work and story. In the end, I was happy with how my poster turned out, especially because I felt that it conveyed deeper meaning within the elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
