He grew up in Austin, where he was exposed to the music scene there. Sadly, he was not able to see Blaze Foley play while he was still alive. When he&#8217;s not playing guitar, he&#8217;s Elai&#8217;s dad. When I was living their, I&#8217;d go see a lot of live music, so I&#8217;ve always had a lot of fondness towards Austin artists. Blaze Foley died tragically young, so sadly I was never able to see him while he was alive. I discovered his music, like a lot of people did, after he was gone. I&#8217;ve always liked Clay Pigeons. I think it&#8217;s got a hopeful vibe to it, so I wanted to make my own version.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Elai&#8217;s Artist Statement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This project was a very unique challenge for me. I have never done anything with music recording or mixing before, and I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;m particularly musically inclined.
