About Me

Welcome to my page, my name is Elaine Cho, I’m a highschool student who moved from Taiwan to the US in 2021. I have a passion for realism sketching and I love trying new techniques as well as different types of arts. I’ve always been interested in the world of art ever since I was a child; I would create different types of works, such as paintings, clay making, and I would take drawing classes every week. When people ask me what I want to be when I grow up, I would often answer with “an artist”. People would then again be confused as to why I want to be an artist since the range for “artist” is so broad. I would always start off by saying “I love art because of my mom”. My mom was the one who got me into art ever since I was a kid since she herself is extremely into arts and crafts as well.

Compassion and kindness are my core values in life because they help me have deep connections with others and create a sense of community. I believe that even small acts of kindness can help make someone’s day better. It not only makes the lives of those around me better but also makes me feel better about myself. These values guide my decisions, encouraging me to treat others with empathy and respect, which helps me better connect with the people around me. Embracing compassion and kindness also allows me to learn from different experiences, contributing to my personal growth as well as making people feel comfortable around me

Outside of school, I enjoy sketching, spending time with friends and family, and eating food that my grandpa makes. Sketching allows me to express my thoughts and feelings, while spending time with loved ones helps me nurture important relationships and help strengthen bonds as well as creating lasting memories. I love eating because, to me, it’s like a form of art that expresses feelings and emotions. Whenever I eat something my grandpa makes, there’s just something truly special about them; they’re filled with love and thoughtfulness. Every time I tell him his food is delicious, I can see how happy it makes him, and that just warms my heart. I could also tell that he puts so much care into every dish and would be so happy with just a little compliment from me. Sharing those meals not only fills my stomach, but it also creates memories and helps strengthen our bonds.

As a Freestyle student, I expect to push my creative boundaries furthermore, improving not only on being more creative but also developing my technical skills. I see myself growing by experimenting with new techniques, collaborating with peers, and having a whole new perspective on my artistic voice. Being a Freestyle student offers me the opportunity to explore my artistic passions in a supportive environment. I value the chance to learn from talented instructors and collaborate with like-minded peers, creating a community where creativity thrives.
