For the Conceptual Project in Film class, we created experimental films based on our concept statements chosen in our English class. My concept statement was: “I am exploring the feeling of satisfaction through dancing”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Experimental films, which rely on the audience to decipher meanings in the abstract aspect of the films, do not follow a narrative, story-like structure, but rather incorporate different elements of visual metaphors and “art for art’s sake”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In my video, I chose to portray two dancers, disconnected from one another, eventually reuniting in order to convey satisfaction. Experimental elements in my film include different aspects of nature “dancing”, as well as a metaphorical blindfold. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
