For this project, I chose to select 2 of the lyric videos I did for my Innovator Project. For these videos, I had to record music in the studio at Freestyle, mix it with Pro Tools, and convert it to an MP3 to get it into AfterEffects to make the video.
For this presentation, I will be talking about how I am interested in the recording industry and why I would enjoy being a part of it.
With the videos shown below, I really enjoyed recording the music in the studio. Though it was frustrating at times, I loved the dynamic of working in the studio and with Pro Tools. Recording all the tracks was very intriguing for me, and mixing it at the end was awesome. Before coming to Freestyle, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my career, I just knew it would be in the arts somehow. When we started learning about Reason and Pro Tools, that really spiked my interest in the studio and music. I have always loved music, it has been a huge part of my life, but Freestyle really helped it come out a bit more.
The recording process for these songs was really fun because I got to work with people I enjoyed being around, but it was also because of the studio environment. It was really cool being able to work with professional programs such as Pro Tools, and figuring out how all of it worked was part of the fun.
After high school, I plan on going to Foothill College for 2 years and then transferring to a 4 year university. I want to major in music technology and/or recording arts. Foothill offers some great classes in learning Reason and Pro Tools, so I'm very excited for that.
