Introduction
Welcome to my Project Information Page. This page was created by Emma Paige. I attend LAHS and more specifically Freestyle Academy. I have a great passion for coding, graphic design, and photography. Here on my website you will be able to see me grow on each of these skills. On the “Self-Portrait” tab you will be able to see an overview of my self-portrait website I created last year. Same with “Narrative”, “Documentary”, and “conceptual”. The next couple tabs are what's next to come; these next couple tabs will show my progression throughout the year and how I’m growing as an artist.
Self Portrait

In the Self-Portrait unit we were supposed to create many things that would come together in the end in our final website. We created a poem in English about ourselves. Then took elements from that poem and translated them into pictures and we created an Illustration in Adobe Illustrator. Next we created music and a slideshow of “me”. WE took all of these elements together and created a website that perfectly described us.

Narrative

Ah. The Narrative project. Probably the hardest I have accomplished. For this project we had to create a story in English, turn it into a comic, then from that comic we created a panel from the comic in Illustrator. We took all of this together and created an animation of our comic which took forever and a lot of effort. And in the end we put all of this together into our website.

Documentary
In the Documentary Unit we were given the opprotunity to chose a place or organization that deals with a real world problem. I chose Hidden Villa. The issue they deal with is sustanable farming. In this unit we were to create a 30 page book on the place and topic. Next we created a podcast and how to navigate through how we created some of our elements. This was all put together in our website
Summer Program
Over what would have been the “conceptual' unit I got very ill and was hospitalized, I missed the whole last unit. Although I was able to make this up over the summer at the UCLA DESMA program, Over this span of time I created a website that highlights all of the key parts to gloving, explains what it is, the history, how it works, and features some images and videos. I also created my own font and a typography poster. I created a short film about nature, and a video game about teeth in a mouth.
Profile
In the profile unit we will be interviewing a active and meaningful person in society. I chose my employer, Bob, McFarlane. He not only runs two+ summer camps, but he is a mentor to me, the reason I switched schools, a basketball coach, a special ED teacher, a father to three beautiful kids and a PE teacher. In this unit we will go in-depth in their backstory and how they got here now and how they are impacting the community.
Narrative 2
The purpose of the Senior Narrative 2 Project is to answer the question of "How well can you tell a dialogue-driven story?" In the second Narrative project in english we will write a Short Story, and write Book Jacket text. In design we will design a Book Jacket based on my English Short Story, and create Surrealist composition using Black & White Photography. In Web we will create a Book Trailer. And will put all of these components together into our website.
Innovator
The purpose of the Senior Innovator Project is use your own passion to innovate, create, and develop your own project. We will use the research process and writing to explore, plan, and reflect on your project in a 5-7 page research paper and reflective post-project addendum. We will create a a proposal for the staff which will be approved or denied.Then from there we will create our own self guided project on what we have chosen.
Portfolio
“The purpose of this final Portfolio Showcase Project is for Senior students to celebrate and demonstrate their growth at Freestyle by presenting information, findings, and supporting evidence to convey a clear and distinct perspective as a digital artist and receive feedback from professionals in a related field to their presentation content.” This will entail strategic use of digital media (two freestyle works). We will justify effective choices for meaning or style or design. Demonstrate growth/discovery/development of passion, skills, talent, potential at freestyle. And relate how the 21st Century Skills you learned at Freestyle support/contribute/are relevant to post-high school plans.

This website is an old link to our Old Project Information Page. We created this page within the first month of Freestyle. This will show the growth from where we started to where we are now. This will have links and descriptions to all of the projects we have done and will do. A perfect demonstration of growth in our journey at Freestyle Academy.
