Documentary

Introduction

The focus of this unit in all of my classes was to tell the story of the unheard. I wanted this unit to give others who might not have a voice, be able to speak. All of my projects surrounded this idea and it helps everyone involved. I valued so much from the Documentary Project in all of my classes because it has taught me that in order to tell the story of others, you cannot plan it, you have to let the story be told and mold it afterwards in the editing room. From this lesson, I have improved as a storyteller and digital artist and I cannot wait to start the next and final year!

English Research Paper

For this research paper, we were supposed to create a compelling piece of informative and entertaining nonfiction writing which documents a person, group, location, organization, or idea. I wanted to focus on the homeless issue in San Francisco, specifically on Haight Street. Haight Street has been famously known for the start of the hippie movement in the 1970s. I wanted to delve into this backstory a little more and find out the cause of the homeless issue in this area.

For this project, we were asked to create a fake documentary as sort of a practice run. This was assigned to us, in order to learn how to conduct an interview and how to learn from our mistakes.
